Why Amicitia?
When times are tight, saving money isn’t stingy — it’s street smarts. The questions every Hongkonger asks: “Where’s a cheap meal? When are the cheap shows? Where do I save on groceries?”
The answers are scattered across forums, groups and a dozen apps — by the time you find them, the deal is gone. Amicitia brings it all together: a map for cheap eats, a calendar for cinema deals, and a price history for groceries. Every entry shows when it was last checked.
Curated by editors, not bots
Every entry is checked by a human, with its source stated. No black-box feeds.
Freshness is trust
Updated today = green dot. Over 7 days = “price may have changed”. Honest.
Your data, your call
Price queries only go online when you tap. Records stay on your phone.

Questions you might have
How much does it cost?
Nothing — free forever, and currently no ads at all. We run on open data and free infrastructure, so running costs are near zero.
Where does the data come from?
Food, cinema, travel, housing and services are curated daily by editors. Prices come from the Hong Kong government open-data portal data.gov.hk “Price Watch” (provided by the Consumer Council, updated daily).
Do you sell my data?
No. There isn’t even an account system. Price lookups only go online when you tap to query, and the results live only on your phone. See the privacy promise in the footer.
When will it launch? What about community reports?
The app is in development — the food map, price watch and cinema calendar come first. Community reporting opens in phase two; until then, all content is editor-verified.
Do prices go stale?
Every entry shows when it was last checked: green = today, grey = within 7 days, orange = “price may have changed” with an automatic recheck.
Why the name Amicitia?
Amicitia is Latin for friendship — one person finds the deal, everyone saves. 香城計, its Chinese name, plays on “scheming to save” and “counting prices” in Hong Kong (香城).
